The perfect blend of heat and sweet! I can't stop sprinkling it on my fruit, soup, popcorn, avo toast, eggs, tofu, salmon, chicken, french fries and so much more. The sweetness of the dates works beautifully with the smoky heat of the Chiltepin peppers. Oh and don't forget to use it in your cocktails - whether it be shaken, stirred or on the rim!
I love all three Desert Dusts but Spicy is DEFINITELY my most used. Whenever I use it to season spicy veggie dip or buffalo chicken dip for a party, everyone asks me for the recipe or wants to take a pic of the Dust bottle. I also love it on crab in place of Old Bay, and anything associated with a crab boil like potatoes, corn, etc. Also amaaaazing on/in bloody marys and as a chicken wing dry rub.
Love the dust. At first was into the original, now i love to mix my original with the spicy and do a half and half. Always have it on my baked skinless chicken thighs. Addicted.
This is my second jar of spicy Desert Dust.
Unlike some spicy things, it is indeed spicy! The flavor profile has a bold spiciness mixed with an underlying sour lime flavor with hints of Mexican flavors making it perfect for tacos or nachos. It’s not so Mexican heavy that it is stuck in that food type and I also enjoy using it on my salmon. The jar is glass and is a decent size at 5 oz. Not too spicy to lose all flavor but not too mild for those who enjoy a kick.
I’ve now gotten the 24oz container to refill my smaller 5 oz container. Still amazing seasoning.
This is my 5th Dessert Dust seasoning and so far it is my favorite, but barely out beating the guacamole seasoning mix. This seasoning is well balanced with a spicy kick, it tastes really good and is a great all-purpose seasoning. I have tried it on steak and chicken so far and it is delicious! But this can work on many different foods that you don't mind having a kick, even popcorn. If you have a high heat tolerance like I do, this will still be enjoyable and add a kick, but if you have a low heat tolerance this will indeed be spicy for you. I recommend this one, a good seasoning with good ingredients.
This dust is literally my go to spice. Delicious on anything, especially avocado toast, grilled asparagus, mixed in mac and cheese, on steak, on all things edible. It’s yummy yummy yummy. Can’t go wrong. Trust the dust.
