OUR BLENDS WORK ON JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING.

These are just a few places to start.

MATCH THE METHOD TO YOUR CHICKEN.

Raw chicken and already-cooked chicken need different approaches. Start here before reaching for the seasoning packet.

  • GROUND CHICKEN.

For a 1 lb skillet batch, the packet directions call for one 1 oz pouch and ¾ cup water. Brown the filling, drain if desired, add the seasoning and water, then simmer for 10 minutes until thickened. Follow the current packet and your chicken recipe.

  • COOKED & SHREDDED.

Rotisserie chicken is already cooked and seasoned. Start with the smaller quantity in our rotisserie chicken taco recipe, then warm gently with moisture. Do not automatically add a whole pouch.

  • GRILLED OR ROASTED.

Choose a recipe written for your chicken cut. The packet’s skillet water quantity is not a marinade ratio, and its simmer time is not the total cooking time for raw chicken.

BUILD A BETTER CHICKEN TACO.

Choose a few toppings that add something different to your seasoned chicken.

  • ADD SOMETHING CRUNCHY.

Try shredded cabbage, diced onion or sliced radish. Keep wet salsa separate until serving so the filling stays lively.

  • FINISH WITH LIME.

Serve lime wedges and cilantro at the table. Add a squeeze, taste, then decide whether you want more salsa or heat.

  • MAKE ROOM FOR CREAMY.

Avocado, guacamole or a spoonful of sour cream pairs well with a spicy filling. Warm the tortillas and keep them covered until you are ready to build.

RECIPES FOR TACO NIGHT.

Our rotisserie chicken tacos use Mild Taco. The loaded potatoes work with Mild Taco or Spicy Taco. For a vegetable option, the cauliflower tacos use Original, Savory or Spicy All-Purpose instead of a taco packet.

CHICKEN TACO SEASONING QUESTIONS.

CAN I USE TACO SEASONING ON CHICKEN?

Yes. Mild Taco lists chicken among its uses, and our rotisserie chicken taco recipe uses Mild Taco Dust. Choose a recipe suited to ground chicken, raw pieces or cooked shredded chicken.

IS MILD COMPLETELY FREE OF HEAT?

Mild is the gentler option, but it still contains chile and black pepper. Choose it for a lower-heat taco, with extra salsa served separately.

HOW MUCH SEASONING SHOULD I USE?

The packet directions use one 1 oz pouch for a 1 lb skillet batch of protein or vegetables. Already-seasoned rotisserie chicken is different: follow our chicken taco recipe, which starts with a smaller amount.

IS SPICY TACO THE SAME AS SPICY ALL-PURPOSE?

No. Spicy Taco is the pouch blend with guajillo and cayenne. Spicy All-Purpose is a different blend that includes chiltepin. Use the product named in your recipe.

DOES THE 10-MINUTE SIMMER MEAN DINNER IS READY IN 10 MINUTES?

No. That is the packet’s simmer after browning and adding seasoning and water. Preparation and cooking time depend on your chicken and recipe.

Dust Everything.

EXPLORE MORE DUST.

Know your favorite? Mild Taco and Spicy Taco each come in packs of six 1 oz pouches. Want both? The Taco Night Starter Kit includes two Mild Taco, two Spicy Taco and two Guacamole seasonings.

Guacamole Seasoning is a separate blend for ripe avocados. Make it alongside your tacos and let everyone finish their own plate. Try the seasoning on vegetables, bowls, chips and dips, too.
