OUR BLENDS WORK ON JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING.

These are just a few places to start.

PICK YOUR CUT. THEN YOUR DUST.

  • START WITH THE CUT.

A quick pork chop dinner and slow-cooked shoulder need different methods. Choose a recipe for the cut and thickness you have, then pick your favorite Dust.

  • CHECK THE SALT.

Original, Savory and Spicy already contain sea salt. Take extra care with pork that comes brined, marinated or pre-seasoned.

HOW TO SEASON PORK CHOPS.

Pick a blend, then use the amount and cooking method in your recipe. The right approach depends on the cut, thickness and whether the pork is already brined or seasoned.

Oven-baked: Try pork chops with potatoes and Original Dust. The potatoes get a head start and the Dust goes into a finishing mixture.

Pan-seared: Make pan-seared pork chops with Savory Dust for cumin-led flavor.

Other cuts: Explore grilled pork steaks or pork loin roast. Use the recipe written for your cut rather than borrowing a chop’s cooking time.

PORK RECIPES TO TRY.

PORK SEASONING QUESTIONS.

WHICH DESERT DUST SHOULD I CHOOSE FOR PORK CHOPS?

Choose Original for smoky, earthy flavor, Savory for cumin-led warmth, or Spicy for chiltepin and cayenne heat. Our oven-baked pork chops use Original; our pan-seared pork chops use Savory.

CAN I USE DESERT DUST AS A PORK RUB?

Yes. These dry all-purpose seasonings can be used on pork. Follow the recipe for your cut and cooking method: some recipes season before cooking, while others add Dust as a finishing mixture.

DO I NEED TO ADD SALT?

All three blends contain sea salt. Check the pork label, especially if it is brined, marinated or pre-seasoned, and follow your recipe before adding more salt.

CAN I USE THE SAME METHOD FOR EVERY CUT?

No. Chops, shoulder steaks, loin and tenderloin need recipes suited to the cut. Loin and tenderloin are different cuts; do not swap their cooking instructions.
