Grilled radishes soften in a grill basket while their cut edges pick up color. Finish with lime and Original Dust after cooking so the seasoning stays bright.

Ingredients
1 pound (450 g) red radishes, greens removed and roots trimmed
1 tablespoon (15 ml) neutral oil, divided
3/4 level teaspoon (3.75 ml) Original Desert Dust
1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lime juice
Directions
Cut the radishes. Wash and dry radishes. Halve those about 1 inch across; quarter larger ones so the pieces are similar in thickness. Remove any damaged areas.
Prepare the grill. Heat a clean grill to medium, about 375–400°F (190–205°C). Set a grill basket on the grate to warm. Keep a cooler area available in case the radishes brown before softening.
Grill in the basket. Toss radishes with 2 teaspoons oil. Spread in the basket, cut sides down where possible. Grill 15–20 minutes, turning every few minutes, until lightly browned and easily pierced with a fork but not collapsing.
Make the finish. While they cook, mix the remaining teaspoon oil with Original Dust and lime juice in a serving bowl. Keep this dressing away from the direct grill heat.
Toss and serve. Transfer hot radishes into the bowl and toss gently. Serve warm, scraping the small amount of seasoned lime dressing over the top.
Yield: 4 side servings.

Cooking softens their raw peppery bite and brings out a gentler, slightly sweet flavor. They should still have some texture. The lime and Original Dust finish adds acidity and seasoning after the grill.
DO I NEED A GRILL BASKET?
A basket keeps small pieces from falling through the grate. A perforated grill pan is another option. Without one, thread larger halves securely onto suitable skewers and turn carefully; cooking time may differ.
HOW SMALL SHOULD I CUT THEM?
Halve small radishes about 1 inch wide and quarter larger ones. Similar thickness matters more than identical shape. Very large dense radishes take longer; move them to a cooler part of the grill if their surfaces brown first.
WHY ADD THE SEASONING AT THE END?
Original Dust contains dates, so a long stay against a hot grill can darken its coating quickly. Grilling with oil first and tossing with the measured finish gives you more control of browning and flavor.
CAN I USE A STOVETOP GRILL PAN?
Yes, over medium heat with good ventilation. Cook in a single layer and turn occasionally until fork-tender. The pan holds moisture differently from an outdoor grill, so use tenderness and color rather than the timer alone.
CAN I MAKE THEM AHEAD?
They taste best just grilled. You can trim and cut them earlier the same day, refrigerating in a covered container; dry them before oiling. Keep the lime finish separate until the radishes are hot.
HOW DO I KEEP LEFTOVERS?
Refrigerate within two hours in a covered container and use within 3–4 days. Reheat to 165°F (74°C), or eat properly chilled leftovers cold. They will soften further on reheating. Original Dust contains mustard; check the label for your dietary needs.
These grilled chicken fajitas start with whole chicken breast portions in a lime and Savory Dust marinade. Grill large pepper pieces and onion rounds alongside, then rest and slice the chicken across the grain. Allow 30 minutes to marinate and 5 minutes to rest, in addition to prep and grilling.
